The last post on this blog was nearly 5 years ago. Since then, it went quiet, the hosting lapsed, and it disappeared from the Internet. But i wasn’t gone. I was still smoking cigars, lots of them in fact. I just wasn’t writing about them anymore, and every so often i’d have an itch to write, but i let it pass.

You see, life has changed very much for me since those heady days of the early 2000s.

I got a new job, working in a bank, managing IT projects. Long hours, stressful days. The best thing to do at the end of each day was to have a good cigar, and go to bed. And that lasted until i got married a couple of years on. Then the best thing to do was… have a good cigar, then go to bed *wink*.

Soon, little Rayyan was born, and though i am loath to admit it, he’s quite a handful. Adjusting to fatherly duties and life wasn’t as easy as i thought it would be, and thankfully it isn’t as hard as some people claim. So far, it’s been hectic, but just like the billions of men before me, i’m coping and happy.

Now that he’s 15 months old, life at work has settled down somewhat, and the wife is less demanding *wink*, i’ve finally got time to write again. I’ve always felt there was something missing each time i smoked a great cigar, and now i think i know what that is — being able to share the experience through my words and photos.

So here i am again, back to My Cigar Blog. The place looks brand new, and in some regards i suppose it is. Blogging software has come a long way since 2005.

I’ve transferred over as much of the old content that i could (it all makes great reading btw, take your time to explore it). However, many images could not be recovered and have been lost forever. A shame, but it’s just like with memories — don’t feel bad for bad memories, because you can always make new ones.

Just to get a feel of the good old days, i recommend you read the following posts:
